A Day of Reflection!
That’s right folks, the “assignment” for today is to sit back and reflect on what we have learnt over the past few days.
We don’t even have to write about it, just reflect on it, but I thought that I would let my fingers walk the keyboard whilst I am reflecting, and share my thoughts with you all anyway, like it or not!
The most important thing that I think I have learnt from the past few days is that my writing requires a certain level of commitment on my part, much like everything that we do in life really, especially if we want to improve ourselves in any way.
We can all go through life just doing what we do every day, sit back and tell ourselves that we are just moving along the road of life, but I suppose to really get some fulfillment out of life we have to commit ourselves to the things that are important and mean something to us.
I think we all appreciate that “Work”, whether we like it or not, is an important and necessary part of our lives and although we may sometimes, feel less than fulfilled with our lives at work, it is work, that enables us to pursue the hobbies and pursuits that we really enjoy. I feel that I have been very lucky in my life to have found a job that gives me a great amount of pleasure and fulfillment. I know that this is not the case for a great many people. The drawback that I have found with this however, is that I have always found it difficult to draw the line between work and leisure time, and I still do. I am sure that I have mentioned this before, but truly we should consider that we “work to live” and we should not “live to work”.
I don’t think that I will ever be an accomplished writer and to be fair that was never my intention or aspiration. I would however, like to be more confident to put my thoughts and feelings on “paper” in the hope that someone may be interested enough to read my ramblings, although I believe that if I have learnt anything it is perhaps I should not think of my writing as being for the benefit of others, but I should consider the possibility that it is of benefit to me!
