NO Phone, tablet or Laptop in the company of others
I saw a great post from Naomi Simpson (Founder, RedBallon) on LinkedIn today that really made me sit back and think about the invasive influence my mobile phone has made in my life.
The fact is that every waking moment we are checking our phones, not just for missed calls, texts and emails but for every aspect of our lives and this constant need to “be in touch” has served only one real purpose which is to stifle real interaction with our fellow human beings.
Even at home, we are all wrapped up in own little interactive worlds either on our phones, tablets, laptops or desktops and I am in full agreement with Naomi and happy to accept her 21 day challenge to re-evaluate the way I interact with my family and peers by making a conscious effort to remove myself from the constant attraction of email, text and internet whilst in the company of others.
I know that this challenge is possibly going to be more difficult than I imagine, but I am going to put my heart and soul into making it happen.

I would be interested to learn how many any of my friends and family are brave enough to take up this challenge and spend the next 21 days interacting with their family, friends and peers, face to face and without the excessive use of their phones, email, sms or the internet?
If you do decide to take up the challenge, please let me know how you get on!
